One of the best things I ever did was put the EagleEyes on myself and them played with the controls while I was hooked up to it. It helped me to better understand what adjustments needed to be made when, and how the adjustments actually work. I was able to see common errors and what was causing it.
For example, usually you need to use the centering buttons 3 times in succession to properly center the cursor because it actually moves away from your eyes the first time as it "brackets" to recenter. After doing this, I have been able to have better success at calibrating the system quickly.
